Rural Education Conferences
The 2007 Rural Schools Conference will be held October 11 and 12 at the Richmond Inn Convention Centre. This year’s conference (It Takes a Village – One Learner at a Time!) will focus on schools as community and schools in community.
Participants will engage in a deeper exploration of last year’s topics: Teaching and Learning in Multi-Age Classrooms, Engaging Aboriginal Learners, Supporting Special Needs Students, e-Learning, and Creating Community.
Linda Kaser will provide the keynote; Faye Brownlie and Leyton Schnellert are both confirmed as plenary speakers.
The conference will be co-chaired by Pat Pearce from School District 74 (Gold Trail), Dan Boudreault from School District 85 (Vancouver Island North) and Virginia Ivey from School District 73 (Kamloops).
Program and registration information will be available on the Rural Education Network site later this spring.
Conference proceedings will once again be webcast. If you’d like to host a webcast session in your district or region, please express your interest by email.
The 2006 Rural Renewal Conference webcast plenaries are now available online and in DVD format. Please send an email for your free copy.
