Francophone Education

B.C.’s francophone community is the fourth largest in Canada. And B.C. has 38 French-language public schools. These schools provide all instruction in French – as opposed to French Immersion schools, which combine French and English.

French-language schools are operated by the Conseil Scolaire Francophone (CSF), also known as School District 93, which covers the entire province.

To register your child for a francophone school, you must meet certain criteria. To learn more about francophone education, check out this booklet for parents. Or visit the Francophone Education Authority (CSF) website. Most information on the site is in French, but some English resources are available.
